System and Network Administrator
- Role Overview
The System and Network Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and securing the company’s IT infrastructure, cloud platforms, network environment, endpoint devices, and enterprise applications. This role ensures the availability, performance, reliability, and security of IT services that support a remote-first workforce across multiple locations. Working closely with IT Operations, Information Security, business stakeholders, and external vendors, the role drives operational excellence by implementing best practices in systems administration, networking, identity and access management, endpoint management, automation, and cybersecurity.

- Primary Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Systems Administration
- Administer and maintain Windows, Linux and macOS endpoint environments.
- Manage endpoint configuration, operating system deployment, patching, and security baselines.
- Monitor system availability, performance, and capacity, proactively resolving issues.
- Administer enterprise infrastructure, storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Support implementing new technologies, initiatives, and improving the quality of existing setup.
- Perform backups and restoration activities in accordance with defined processes.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives.
Network Administration
- Manage network infrastructure including switches, wireless networks, VPN, firewalls, internet connectivity and more.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Perform network maintenance, upgrades, patching, and security configuration.
- Implement network security best practices and optimize network performance.
- Coordinate with ISPs, OEMs, and vendors for installation, maintenance, and issue resolution.
Cloud, Identity & SaaS Administration
- Administer Google Workspace, AWS and other enterprise SaaS applications.
- Manage user lifecycle activities including provisioning, deprovisioning, and access modifications.
- Administer user accounts, groups, permissions, and role-based access controls.
- Manage software deployment, application updates, license utilization, and cloud-based collaboration platforms.
- Support Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), password management, and periodic access reviews.
Endpoint & Asset Management
- Manage the complete lifecycle of IT assets including procurement, deployment, inventory, replacements, returns, warranty support, and disposal.
- Coordinate hardware procurement, vendor management, and product evaluations.
- Provision, configure, secure, and maintain endpoint devices throughout their lifecycle.
IT Support & Service Operations
- Provide technical support for hardware, operating systems, software, cloud services, and applications.
- Manage IT service requests, incidents, and helpdesk tickets while meeting defined SLAs.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Support employee onboarding and offboarding, including device setup, account provisioning, and access management.
- Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, OEMs, and service providers for issue resolution.
- Ensure proper documentation, tracking, and closure of incidents and service requests.
Security & Compliance
- Implement and maintain security best practices across endpoints, infrastructure, and cloud services.
- Support vulnerability management, security hardening, endpoint protection, and remediation activities.
- Assist with security incident response and infrastructure-related investigations.
- Support SOC 2 audits, compliance initiatives, and evidence collection.
- Ensure adherence to company security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Monitoring, Documentation & Improvements
- Continuously monitor infrastructure health, system performance, and operational alerts.
- Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, asset records, and standard operating procedures.
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive administrative tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across IT setup and service delivery.
- Ideal Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics or a related field
- 5–8 years of experience in System Administration, Network Administration, IT setup support or Cloud Administration.
- Preferred Certifications: (Optional)
- Cloud platform certifications (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure)
- Google Workspace Administrator certification
- ITIL Foundation or equivalent IT Service Management certification
- Networking, cybersecurity, or AI-related certifications
Technical Skills:
- Strong experience supporting Windows, Linux, and macOS environments.
- Experience managing cloud-hosted services, SaaS applications, and remote work environments.
- Strong understanding of endpoint provisioning, patch management, software deployment, and lifecycle management.
- Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM), Identity and Access Management (IAM), RBAC, SSO, MFA, and least-privilege principles.
- Working knowledge of AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, storage, identity services, and security best practices.
- Strong networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, routing, switching, wireless networking, firewalls, and network troubleshooting.
- Experience administering enterprise infrastructure, virtualization, storage, backup, disaster recovery, and monitoring solutions.
- Knowledge of system monitoring, performance tuning, capacity planning, and infrastructure optimization.
- Experience with endpoint security, vulnerability management, system hardening, encryption, logging, security monitoring, and incident response.
- Understanding of Zero Trust architecture and cybersecurity best practices.
- Experience with ITSM platforms, ticketing systems, asset management, change management, incident management, and service request processes.
- Strong hardware troubleshooting and endpoint support skills.
- Experience working in security-conscious and compliance-driven environments is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in remote and distributed IT environments.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to evaluate and adopt emerging AI technologies.
